Weed Pots
Doyle Lane spent five decades working in clay here in Los Angeles. His work includes pottery, clay paintings, wall reliefs, jewelry and much more. In the summer of 2020, Ricky Swallow curated an exhibition of Doyle Lane's ceramic 'weed' pots at the David Kordansky Gallery in Los Angeles. A few inches tall, what is unforgettable about these is the sense of hand and the glaze. This is the catalogue from the exhibition. Edited by Stuart Krimko and Ricky Swallow with an essay by Lee Whitten, archival and exhibition photographs, and a conversation between Dale Brockman Davis and Stanley C. Wilson.
