Such is Life / Forever Motto Necklace

Made by stamping an 1800s carved seal with 'mottos' in French, Italian, Latin or English on to gold. A rectangular disc in gold with satin finish that will turn shiny over time features an image of a sailboat being tossed in stormy seas with the French phrase "telle est la vie" (‘Such is Life’ or 'that's life.’) Life might throw us in the path of storms, but like a ship on the open sea. The motto of acceptance of the unpredictable fortunes of existence - take the good with the bad! . On the reverse, a pair of shaking hands with the French words, “pour toujours” ('forever.’) Clasped hands are the universal image for friendship, peace, alliance, unification, and partnership… Shake to a promise of “promise.”. Handcrafted in Los Angeles.
