Simple, Bavel, which could be the best restaurant in Los Angeles, from Ori Menashe and Genevieve Gergis, with Lesley Suter collaborating on this book, has finally shared the secrets to some of their ultimate recipes including the grilled prawns, the oyster mushroom kebab and my personal favorite, the chermoula for the grilled Dorade, but there is more including bread, breakfast and a variety of desserts that span sephardic, North African and Middle Eastern and beyond but rooted in being Ori and Genevieve's recipes and take, who ultimately share the food they love and eat with family and friends. Many recipes are "cheffy" but far from all. By the way, Ottolenghi agrees.
