Many places I have been to have a special dish or drink I associate with it. Rome will forever be Carciofi alla Giudia.  Renee Erickson, is not only a James Beard Award winner and proprietor of The Walrus and the Carpenter along with five other establishments in Seattle, but also an avid traveler, and in the midst of the pandemic she wrote a book bringing forth those wonderful dishes and cocktails she has had in Rome, Paris, Normandy, London, Baja and her home turf of Seattle, but let me suggest that you start looking at the last two chapters of this book for Seattle and Baja are truly exciting. I want to make the squash blossom quesadillas, the aguachile, and I want to eat tortillas with goat cheese, honeycomb, chipotle and salt as well as the tomato tonnato.  She talks restaurants like Le Baratin in Paris and St. John, Rochelle Canteen and River Cafe in London. If any of these places is one you long for or you are in the mood for asparagus with sauce gribiche, buckwheat crepe, serious meat, seafood and wonderful cocktails, this book is for you.
